Theory of Knowledge

 

The Theory of Knowledge course is a key component of the IB Diploma.  Students take TOK during their junior and senior years. This course is taught in two languages (English and Chinese). Students may choose to study ToK in any of these languages.

 

The course addresses knowledge issues present in different content areas and helps students address the question “How do we know what we know?”   Through class discussions, readings, guest presentations, and student reflection students examine knowledge from a variety of perspectives to learn to think critically about knowledge claims and to learn how to improve their research and presentation of ideas.  

 

Students complete ToK exhibition in their junior year (Year 1) and  TOK essay and presentation in their senior year (Year 2).
