If the applicant falls below these levels, he/she will be advised to take an intensive summer Pre-IB Course before taking the IBDP and is classified as a Pre-IB student. After taking the intensive summer Pre-IB English Language Acquisition (ELA) Course, then student will be reassessed. If he/she meets the standard score, he/she will be admitted to the mainstream IB Diploma Programme with additional language support from the IB language teachers. However, if the student still failed after the Pre-IB course, a waiver (parental consent) will be required for the conditional acceptance of the student and will be admitted to the mainstream IB with additional language support. Students with diagnosed learning or behavioral issues will only be considered for admission following evaluations by the school’s guidance counselor.

The purpose of the English test is to ascertain that every student has the written ability to access the whole of the International Baccalaureate Programme, which is delivered in English as well as determining at what level the student should study English either in Group 1 , or Group 2. The mathematics test also serves as a diagnostic tool to determine the level of study for math.
